M-2220 is a non-flame sustaining, phosphoric acid based cleaner and brightener for use on aluminum surfaces.
M-2220 is in accordance to U.S. Military Specification MIL-C-5410B TYPE I, viscous emulsion used full strength for the overhaul of unfinished aluminum surfaces.
Usage
Preparation of airplane: Whenever practicable, cleaner and brightener application compound application should be made outdoors in a shaded area or well-ventilated room.
Application
M-2220 is a viscous emulsion used full strength for the overhaul of unfinished aluminum surfaces.
M-2220 should be applied with a soft brush, rag, sponge or by spray. When applicable the application should begin on the bottom surfaces. It should be applied with a circular motion, brushing enough to loosen the surface film. The compound should be allowed to remain on the surface a maximum of 15 minutes then rinse with a stream of water.
