M-2288 is a granular, free-flowing, powdered alkaline steam cleaning compound for use in steam cleaning machines for cleaning ferrous and non ferrous metals.

Application
M-2288 is designed to be used through a steam cleaner or similar high-pressure equipment. The compound shall be thoroughly dissolved to give a concentration of approximately 10 ounces of the compound per gallon of water, using the soap tank of the cleaning machine, or a separate drum outside the cleaning machine and then transferring to the soap tank of the cleaning machine. Adjust the concentrate solution-metering device to obtain the desired results. A nozzle concentration of 0.2 percent (0.25 ounce per gallon) is suitable for average cleaning. A pressure hot water rinse is recommended after compound application. When the machine is shut down at the end of a shift, a “blow down” is essential for retarding scale formation in the coils of the machine.
